As Close To God As You Can Get

High atop the rolling hills and towering mountains of Vail Colorado; you can’t get much closer to the heavens than that. After a big day, if they walk home to their Vail summer rentals just the right way, star chasers may be able to see the Milky Way in all its magnificence and glory. Or you can ride along the hills in spring or winter in a horse drawn sleigh and observe the starry sky en route to an evening meal at the Timber Hearth Grille. Spring in Vail Colorado, while warmer than winter but not as hot as summer, is thought by many to be the best of both worlds. With snow still on the ground but the temperatures rising Vail’s Annual April Festival kicks off each new season. If it’s a different type of stars that you’re looking for, Vail Colorado’s Gerald Ford Amphitheater has been a temporary home to such acts as the Black Crowes; Blues Traveler; New York Philharmonic; and Bob Dylan. Not too shabby!

Make It A Family Affair

Vail Colorado is extremely family friendly so don’t be afraid to bring the kids. Winter sporting activities such as ski biking, children’s snowmobiling, and snow tubing will appeal to most kids of any age. And ice skating is literally unlimited on the mountain’s of Vail Colorado. These high adrenaline activities are sure to tire the kids out so that mom and dad can have a quiet, relaxing and possibly even romantic evening alone. And if you can, be sure to miss the Sunday rush to get home by staying through until Monday or Tuesday when everyone else has to go back to work. Not only can you probably get a nicer deal on your accommodations, you’ll barely miss the crowded conditions of the weekend.

AND…The Vail Snowboard and Ski Museum is an interesting and fun stop that, if you can find the time, you won’t want to miss.

When trying to transfer you telescope from one point to the other it is very important that you pack your telescope in a safe spot.

Just In Case You Have An Accident

Telescopes cost several hundred dollars, so you want to be sure you are covered in the event of an accident. You do not only just need auto insurance but it is always a good idea to have an auto accident lawyer in mind. The reason for this is because in case the accident is not your fault, you need to be sure you have legal representation.

Packing Your Telescope

When packing your telescope try to put it in the original case it came in when you first bought it. That is a safe way to pack it, and it will keep you telescope from being broken. Or you might wrap you telescope up in a very thick blanket to avoid anything being broken.

Your trip is going to be a wonderful adventure. With proper packing you telescope should be able to function 100% when you are at the destination you have traveled to.

Living in today’s world can be extremely complex. Too often, we fail to “smell the roses” and enjoy the day. However, happiness can be found in the littlest moments. These moments will create memories that will last forever. If you are in need of good memories, consider solar eclipse tours.

Solar Eclipse Tours

A solar eclipse tour is an opportunity for you are your family to experience astronomy up close. On these tours, scientific experts can teach you about our solar system and the stars. You can also learn about planets and solar eclipses that occur randomly. Experts in the field teach these classes. They are fun and informative and a great option for anyone who loves learning. At times, these tours take on the form of expeditions. This can be exciting and entertaining. Also, several people go on tours to observe major events in astrology including comets and solar eclipses.

Your Solar Adventure

Keep in mind that these adventures can be planned or unplanned. However, they provide a great opportunity for kids and families to get to know our astronomy system. Many leave with a better understanding of how the solar system operates and they are able to recognize unique features about stars and other planets. Cater your solar adventure to your family. Choose experiences that will add value to your life and help you appreciate the world around you.

Part of Every Vacation

In addition, remember that solar eclipses can be part of every vacation. Those who stay at the Huka Retreats learn this. Astronomy and outdoors are important to Alex Van Heeren. And it is an experience you can have when you stay at one of his exotic resorts.

Anyone who has seen a solar eclipse understands the awe that it brings. Therefore, work to bring this experience to your loved ones!

But everybody enjoys receiving an awards certificate every now and then in their lives—you know you do.

If You Have A Junior Astronomer In Your Home

Kids interested in astronomy are pursuing a worthwhile cause. If encouraged and there’s no telling how far they could take that interest. If you want to encourage them and promote that way of thinking in order to eventually advance not only their knowledge but interest in something so fascinating, a little junior certificate of achievement award never hurt… not bad any ways. Now where does one find a junior certificate of achievement award in astronomy? No worries… I’ve got you covered.

Professional Awards And Certifications

You can’t tell me that if you are a professional astronomer you’re not going to receive some type of award for your accomplishments. I simply refuse to believe that. After all professional does mean a) you’re probably getting paid and b) you probably had to get at the very least a bachelor’s or master’s degree… And I know they give certificates for those. Still, if you want to add a little fun you can always print up a certificate for someone that is important to you if they do achieve the heralded professional astronomer title.

Just do a search for printable certificates online and you should be able to come up with something either cute or clever.

Just lately, an area in the Midwest United States was treated to the sighting of Venus, Mars and the Moon all in one area. Stargazers’ hearts were all a-flutter.

The Thing About Star Gazing Is—It Can Get Downright Chilly

If you’re doing your star gazing from a planetarium you’re probably not going to have to worry about staying warm. If on the other hand, you’re standing at the top of a hill with your telescope out in the country (because you can’t see a lot of stars in town–it’s too bright) you’re going to want to be wearing anything from gilets and slipovers to cardigans, cotton jerseys, cashmere jerseys; possibly even something made from superior British lamb’s wool, if your tastes run a little higher end.

Be Stylish But Be Warm

In order to show up dressed warm enough to be comfortable star gazing but still stylish, consider wearing something from Woolovers Knitwear. They are a successful online seller of the gentleman’s and ladies quality British knitwear clothing including cotton, Merino, cashmere and lamb’s wool.
What’s even better is that by doing your shopping online you will not only save yourself the trouble of fighting crowds and wasting gas, but by using the promotional codes that can only be found online you can save anywhere from 20% up to 32%.

Questions to Meditate

When talking about time and space there are more questions unanswered than answered. All of the work done by astrologists and NASA still leave more baffling riddles than solutions. How long is infinity? Forever? How long is forever? At what point does forever stop? Everything stops. How big is the galaxy? Not the galaxy we know… The galaxy we have yet to know. There is a visible universe but what is immeasurable is what remains sight unseen. If something is undiscovered does it still exist?

Life’s Mysteries Abound

If you’re interested in getting into a full blown discussion of philosophy and religion, ask someone sometime about dark energy. What is it and what is its significance? Can it explain the beginning of everything? Of life? Of time? ‘Is there life out there?’ Is the question of ‘is there life…’ based upon science, religion or both? Can they combine?

Meditation quotes are as limitless as those who meditate: “Mind is thinking. Meditation is no-thinking… Meditation is not against mind but it is the art of going beyond mind.”

There is a type of Parenting clan that has a web site which can be extremely helpful with tips and advice on how to share fun and learning experiences with your kids.

Print Out A Map Of The Constellations

Looking up a map of the constellations online is easy enough. Print it up and take it with you when you decide to go star gazing with the kids. If you’re in the middle of a well lit, rather large city you may have to go to a more remote spot to get a really good view of the stars at night. And there’s always the chance that while gazing up to the stars in the sky, you may be lucky enough to wish on a falling star with your kids.

Should You Purchase A Telescope?

Telescopes, as with so many things, come in different levels of quality and price. If you’re not sure that your child is going to pursue an interest in star gazing you might want to go with a less expensive model at first. Should they continue to show interest or become literally enthralled with the constellations you can always purchase a more expensive model for birthdays, Christmas (or whatever you celebrate), graduation, etc.

With all the wonders that surround us, star gazing can be just the beginning to a meaningful relationship with your child.
